Construction of OFDM M-QAM sequences with low peak-to-average power ratio

We present a technique to derive -quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signals from quaternary phase-shift keying (QPSK) constellations when = 2 and is an even number. By utilizing QPSK Golay sequences, we have constructed -QAM sequences with low peak-to-mean envelope power ratios. Several upper bounds for these -QAM sequences were derived.

Use of m - sequences for OFDM peak - to - average power ratio reduction

Inti.odzietion: Multicarrier modulation techniques have been proposed for digital TV broadcasting and high speed wireless networks over multipath channels [l]. A main drawback of multicarrier modulation is that the peak transmitted power may be up to N times the average, where N is the number of carriers. Linear amplifiers that can withstand the peak power are less efficient. Hard limiting of t...

A generalized construction of OFDM M-QAM sequences with low peak-to-average power ratio

A construction of 2-QAM sequences is given and an upper bound of the peak-to-mean envelope power ratio (PMEPR) is determined. Some former works can be viewed as special cases of this construction.

Peak-to-average power ratio reduction in OFDM based on transformation of partial transmit sequences

A novel scheme (transformation of partial transmit sequences, T-PTS) is proposed for the partial transmit sequence (PTS) method to reduce peak-to-average power ratio of OFDM signals. In T-PTS certain transformations are applied on partial transmit sequences to generate more candidates for increasing performance. Simulations show that T-PTS outperforms conventional PTS for the same number of sub...

Reducing the peak to average power ratio in OFDM systems

High peak to average power ratio of the transmit signal is a major drawback of OFDM systems. After defining the PAPR and analyzing its statistical properties, some of the most representative PAPRreduction techniques available in the literature are reviewed in detail. Several methods have been proposed to reduce the peak power of OFDM signals. In this paper the effectiveness of some recently pro...
